Nicely situated station, great for commute to Penn State Harrisburg campus and the airport. But, it doesn't have places to sit inside the station building. The only benches available are exposed to winds and sometimes even rain which render them unusable at times, especially during winter.

As someone who frequently uses the Middletown Amtrak Station, it’s a shame to see the poor condition of this newer facility. Despite its recent construction, the station lacks basic maintenance and cleanliness. There is no one tasked with keeping the station clean, and it shows. The entire complex is overrun with spiders and cobwebs, making it feel more like an abandoned building than an active transportation hub. Additionally, there are no bathrooms available for travelers, which is incredibly inconvenient, especially for those with long wait times or after a long journey. Overall, the Middletown Amtrak Station desperately needs attention and improvements to provide a more comfortable and hygienic experience for its users.

Very nicely renovated station. No problems at all. Unstaffed so I bought ticket online.

Best part? Free parking. Worst Part? Very little parking.
If you arrive after 7 on a week day forget about getting legal parking. Some people park wherever they can (grass, driving lanes of the lot, etc...) but they ticket all those vehicles. If you can get parking, then this is a great jumping off point for an Amtrak trip. Easy access just steps away to board the train and small town location means easy traffic navigation. Sure beats $30 parking in Harrisburg and the related traffic mess there as well. This would be the best Amtrak boarding point in the entire region if only there was sufficient parking to meet the demand. (BTW: the lot does not seem to get plowed when it snows so you have to factor that into your planning as well during the winter.)

I used this station to go to NJ after flying into the Harrisburg Airport. I walked the mile to the station. My biggest complaint is that there could have been better pedestrian access from the Ann St. overpass. You have to walk a full quarter mile down the street to the parking lot then walk through the parking lot to actually get to the station. Then you have to go upstairs, walk parallel to the overpass--about 30' away--and downstairs again. Odd. Why not build a pedestrian access from the overpass? Better yet, why not also create a pedestrian overpass to the other end of the train platform from the airport road adjacent to the entrance to the airport's long term parking lot. Then you could expand the long term parking options for the train station as well. That would really be encouraging multimodal transportation.

This place has no entry door so the entire inside of the station is INFESTED with bugs(moths, spiders, spotted lantern flies etc). There are spider webs on the inside and outside windows and over 90 steps that you have to walk to get to the platform. There are also birds that get trapped inside the building. This place seems like a major waste of money. At night there is no enclosed area making you feel extremely unsafe. I really hate coming to this station.

Good budget option for Amtrak. This is an Amtrak train station and you can save $10-$70 for departing here instead of Harrisburg. Would not recommend if there is bad weather, as we got some on our last journey out of here and everyone waited in there cars before boarding the train. The only regularly scheduled daily train service out of here is the Keystone and the Pennsylvanian visits once per week.

They are now charging $10 for parking. Even if you are just picking someone up. The old Middletown station was convenient and easy. This is unnecessarily difficult and complicated.
