First time going to the Houston Amtrak station after almost 40 years of living here. The station is nothing big, nothing fancy, but it is nice and clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We checked my father in law's luggage in, and then walked to the train. The lady checking his ticket allowed us to get on the train and make sure he got in the right seat and settled. Overall we had a great experience at Houston Amtrak!

Had a Pleasant visit to the Houston Sunset limited Amtrack station. It is full of history and the beautiful wooden benches look to be nearly a 100 years old, back when beautiful craftsmanship meant something. The station offers bus routes to other Amtrack locations to get you anywhere you need to go. Judging from other reviews I expected the station to be less than sub par, but that wasn't the case with my visit. Very clean lobby and restrooms. The drink machine coin slot is broken and the snack machine was only half full. Those were the only two things I saw that needed improvements. I was greeted very professionally and courteously by the staff and bus driver. This is my first Amtrack experience and I'm very pleased with this station.

I had a trip from Houston to New Orleans so far train ride was nice past by my old neighborhood. lol. The restrooms are horrible they are not clean period also walking through each cabin it is pour down raining on the inside the we hit a golf cart had to wait 1 hr for police to come investigate and then the bridge repair problem after problem. I will take another train ride but not New Orleans

Amtrak Houston Station may not be as fancy as other Amtrak stations in other places but as serving its purpose as a station I can say it is as neat as others, and most importantly the staff are very nice and helpful. You can say they are smiling even if they are wearing a face mask thru their cortious and soft voice and their actions.

I'm one of the few Original remaining born and raised Houstonians. Let's be completely honest here... Houston, TX is a highly populated world class Metropolitan city. However, our Amtrak train station is 3rd World at best, with outdated everything. An Intermodal Station would suffice since this is in fact a Gateway City. Seems like the North, East Coast & West Coast and various Southern Citizens are now opting to make the move to Houston and call it "Home"... The population is steadily increasing and roadway traffic is now surpassing cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco. There has to be a solution and I would think an Intermodal Station with, reliable Buses, additional Light Rail and Amtrak Rail systems would help reduce traffic, generate more job opportunities as well as increase transit safety here in this region of the country. I'm speaking from experience, I've traveled the world over and mass transit innovation could definitely enhance livability and revenue to allow many families and individuals to grow and rise. It would be a definite Win - Win.
